Your Tempting Trouble Discussion Thread

Someone asked for a discussion thread for the newest GLow book. Here it is!

You may talk about Lance and Grace, Jed, and all the other characters in the story, as well as ask me questions. As this book has some ties with Big Bad Wolf, you're welcomed to bring in questions about that story too.

I hope you enjoyed Grace's crazy daringness as much as I did. She was fun to write because she's such a youthful, devil-may-care character, especially with her upbringing. And I hope you enjoyed Lance too, who started a track-mission five years ago and ends it in this book, with the "capture" of Grace ;).

Thank you, everyone, for all your support of my inde venture. It's fun bringing all these stories to live without going through years of rejection!

International Readers, Non-Kindle, Non-Nook formats

I apologize my past few posts have lately been all links all about buying my books, but my ebook publishing friends and readers keep giving me such great advice and asking for different formats etc.

Do you know about Smashwords? It's a site used by indie authors to upload their books to make them available in other formats, such as IPad, Iphone, Sony Reader, regular HTML for those who read on their computer, etc. Very good for international readers and non-Kindle/Nook owners! I have made my two indie books available there:

Big Bad Wolf (Smashwords)

Hunter (Smashwords)

My sales numbers through this site is very small but it's a good way to reach out to many readers who read in other e-formats. Hopefully, it'll catch on and expand my readership!

Do let me know in the comments whether you use Smashwords or that this is your first time hearing about it! It'd help my promo efforts.

Big Bad Wolf On Smashwords Now

It's ready!  You can now download an ebook of Big Bad Wolf on your Kindle, Nook, computer, or any e-reader from Smashwords.  Here is the url:
http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/39492

Tell me what you think of the $4.99 price.  Is it a good price for you?  I'm just happy to finally be able to offer BBW as an ebook since many of you have asked for this format since it came out on Amazon a while back.

I'll try to update you on how this project does.  Right now I'm $175.00 in the red so it'll take a while before I make any profit.

Do you buy your ebooks on Smashwords?

Big Bad Wolf Available On Kindle & Nook Soon!

I'm so excited.  I finally found a company (Jaxadora Design) that charges a decent price (meaning, one I could afford) to convert my BBW pdf into different formats for different readers.  BIG BAD WOLF should available for Kindle, Nook, and at Smashwords for those who prefer other formats in a week to ten days!

And here is the new cover for BBW.  What do you think?  I love the new look very much.

Some of you have asked about the availability of my currently unavailable SEAL books in any format.  As you know, I've gotten the rights back to The Protector and Sleeping With *** and I'll be putting them back on Amazon, BN, and Smashwords as soon as I can...with new covers!  And with some of the cut original scenes edited out because of word count.  And oh, a new title for Sleeping With ***, which I still can't say with a straight face.  If you have any cool suggestions, do put in comments ;-).

Numbers & Intentions

It never fails to amuse me. All I have to do is post sexy vege pictures and a Gerard Butler video and my site numbers spike up by hundreds. Many people from all over the world (Indonesia, I'm looking at you) are in love with Gerard Butler. I'm not sure what people have in mind when they google for sexy veges, LOL.

I know writers don't share sales numbers because of...I don't know...because of some unspoken professional rule, but since Big Bad Wolf was a self-pubbed experiment, I'll do so on my blog for those who are interested in whether this option is viable for you.

At the end of 2009, one year after BIG BAD WOLF came out, I've sold 700 copies, mostly through Amazon. Those that I sold from Createspace are mainly orders from overseas, especially from wonderful Australian booksellers who keep my Aussie readers Glow-happy and to whom I'm eternally grateful.

Overseas sales are about 100 copies, ordered by readers from Australia, Malaysia (yo, homies!), Singapore, Thailand, England, and France. I'm sure I missed a few international readers, especially Canadians, who ordered through Amazon, which I must seriously thank because I know the shipping charges got to be painful to the wallet.

When I started this project, my research said I could expect about 250 sales at most because, other than family and friends, self-published books aren't going to catch much attention. So that was my target. I figure I could possibly get 250 sales at 12 or 13 books a month.

My main worry was the price. Amazon takes a big chunk of the $11.55 price I put on the book, almost 80 percent. I needed to make back some money to:

1) prove that it's a business venture that can bring in profit
2) pay a bit of taxes (I didn't have a contract with Samhain when I started so I needed to show income for my GLow entity)
3) pay for the odds and ends, like the cover art and shipping charges

Most trade paperbacks are $14 and above. Most self-published books are set at incredibly self-delusional prices (some at US$40). I really tried to get it as close to $10 as I could, but couldn't do it at that time. I think, at this point, after a year, I can lower the price to $10.55.

My only problem was that I didn't know how to set my .pdf file into Amazon's .css requirement. Someone mentioned that Word would automatically do this but maybe it's a newer Word since my version (2003) doesn't seem to have this function. I just didn't have the time to sit down to learn. I'd love to be able to get on Kindle and sell it for $4 or whatever it was the wise and funny J.A. Konrath was teaching at his blog. Maybe that would be my 2010 goal...learn Kindle-ese.

Okay, that's my self-pub numbers in a few paragraphs. I'm not an expert. I mostly muddled through the process and did very little publicity except blog about it. The numbers stand on their own, with no big stores selling the book, no big push from anyone, a couple of wonderful reviews from Mrs. Giggles and Riley Merrick (sadly, I'm heartbroken, I couldn't get Harriet Klausner to give me five stars, heh), and no advertisement. All I had were my readers and I'm eternally grateful to everyone who ordered the book because you trusted my writing enough to know that I'd try my best to give you a worthy book. Thank you.

I think I'd try another self-pub book this year, so that I can LOWER Big Bad Wolf's price. Just to see whether Amazon would do a 2-for-1 sale or something like that. I'm curious at how they recommend their Createspace books. Besides, the income from those 700 books was enough to pay for most of my health insurance. So, yay. That was much, much more than my original 2 bks a month expectations, yes?

***********

Last year I also went epubbed for the first time. My New Year's resolution was to sell Virtually Hers by-hook-or-by-crook and I accomplished that in May, when the wonderful Angela James, then Samhain editor, bought my book.

Virtually Hers has been out three months and has done okay. Again, with a two-year lapse between Book 1 and Book 2, I wasn't expecting much, so was pleasantly surprised at the first month's sales number (in the hundreds). I'm looking forward to the print version of Virtually Hers coming out this August because I know many of my readers are waiting for the print format to read Jed's and Hell's continuing story.

Many readers are still not familiar with the e-book world. Or they don't hear much news about it. I get a number of emails a month asking where they could find Virtually Hers, after they googled the item and found that it was out in 2007. That's OLD news, of course, and I have to explain that THAT book never came out, and that it is now available through Samhain. Two out of three would then re-email me, confused about how to order the print book from Samhain, even though I've earlier explained that VHers was an electronic book first.

So, as an e-author, I've to learn how to communicate clearer about book formats and how the e-book world works (first e-format, then months later, print format). Most of my readers are looking for the print format and although some are willing to download the e-book, many opted to wait. I adore their patience. I adore their wonderful steadfastness. I adore that they keep looking for Gennita Low's books.

Many of my emails often ask about Alex's and T's story. I cannot tell you how popular these two are to readers and how many times I've to explain to them that although my agent is shopping their story around (with my proposal), she hasn't been able to sell it. And you know I love Alex and T as much as you do. I wrote their story in series-contemporary format years ago and even then they were special. I posted their original meeting a while back as a Christmas gift and I still get readers asking for a repeat after I've taken it off. I'll probably have to do it again.

So, anyway, I guess I should be bold and announce that my 2010 resolution is to get Alex's and T's story published by-hook-and-by-crook, eh? But I do have two projects that I need to get to:

1) For my agent, a new proposal about treasure hunters, with a spec. ops. flavor

2) For the self-pub, the Viking Dude urban-fantasy/alternative first POV story. It's not doing too well as a proposal, so I'm going to get it done (because I love my story) and put the first five chapters out for you to read free to see whether you'd like to continue. If there are enough thumbs-up, I'll self-publish it on Amazon.

Enough about boring numbers and intentions. Thought I'd share with you my 2010 writing plans after Virtually One (Samhain, hopefully late Spring 2010). I should be doing my first e-book signing at Romantic Times Booklovers Convention! Another first, and not sure what that entails. And yes, I'll be giving away free copies of Big Bad Wolf ;-).

For those who have requested, I'll put up the first chapter of T's and Alex's story again this afternoontomorrow (sorry, had to take off to measure a roof. In the cold, argh! And after that, I was so frozen, I was tempted into putting liqueur in my hot chocolate....) some time and put the link here. Stay tune.

Now, if only I could put a Gerard Butler original video in my ebook, you know I'm going to get some fantastic sales numbers :-).

VHERS Has A Date!

BREAKING NEWS!

My editor sent me an email announcing that Virtually Hers is scheduled to be out mid-October, 2009.

I'm still doing edits but everything looks good so far. Once I turn that in, I'm going to concentrate on giving you some updates on the FYEO blog. It was tough to keep it going when the books were on hold because you would have been way, way ahead of the timeline by now! So, give me a couple of weeks to get this project done.

Boy, it's so good to be able to give you a definitive answer. And right before RWA too, yeeha!

Any of you going to RWA? Any of you planning to get Big Bad Wolf? Because if you are, you'll have to say so here or email me so we can all set up a meeting place (drinks, chat, group hug) so that you can get BBW. Why? Because RWA doesn't allow BBW to be part of any signing, even one FOR DONATION to a good cause ;-P.

So...who will be at RWA? Please let me know!

Never Donate Fake Books, Bad UberAuthor

I know I've been boring lately, sort of like the weather here, which is rain, rain, and more rain. I've to read Virtually His and Virtually Hers back-to-back and so I'm doing this with pen and paper by my side because, you know, I'm trying to get VHers out by October and I want it to be as good as possible, without any wrong timeline and weird leaps of plot logic.

While it rains, I make no money. While it rains, I get to sit and read my own books and this task is not the same as sitting and reading other people's books. Oh, by the way, last week's contest ended on Friday and I'll be choosing the winner for the box of books and calendar from RT in the next few days.

One other piece of trivial news. I forgot that Big Bad Wolf, being a self-pubbed project, isn't recognized by RWA as a Real Book, and so, it won't be available for the public during the Literacy Signing at RWA in DC this coming July. I find this kind of amusing, since all proceeds from the signing goes to charity, so my ten or so DONATED self-pubbed books would have been sold for a GOOD CAUSE and when it's a donation, who cares whether the book's publisher is on the approved list, right? LOL. But, anyway, mea culpa for the mistake of telling you guys BBW would be available. I'll still be at the signing, but with...uh...Real Books, heh.

You can still get your copy of BBW, don't worry--you just have to catch me outside the RWA event to get the book. I have been known to pull up a chair and table with a stack of books, so watch out ;-). For those of you who are interested in getting together as a group, please let me know. I'd be delighted to meet with you and chitchat about books. I'll also have copies of BBW for you then, of course.

So. Tell me big spoilers in books you're reading. I know some of you are full of news about the new Ward "Brothers" book, bedecked in leather and all. Opinions? Any new books for my evergrowing list?

All These Characters In My Head

Here's some cool news--I sold #300 of Big Bad Wolf today. Woohoo! I'm going to keep saying it: thank you, thank you, thank you so much!

Bike Week is coming up and I'll be doing a signing then too, so hopefully I'll have some more good sales news to share with you by next weekend. This is really giving me the incentive to put out the anthology I told you about, of short stories of familiar characters from past books. I've already decided on two of the novellas:

1) The STAR SEALs ragging on Reed (Joker) about his wealth the night before Jazz's and Vivi's wedding. I've started writing the story, actually, but being a pantser, it's sort of veered off into bachelor party territory with some off-colored jokes. I'm trying to tone that down, heh. You can imagine how rowdy it could get for this particular group of males the night before one of their own's wedding. Poor Jazz. He really doesn't want THAT kind of wild night. Really, it's the evil roofers influencing the very bad things these SEALs are saying in my draft. So, I'm going to have to try to direct things back to my original story idea--Reed talking to his team about his background.

2) Rick and Nikki. The happy couple. Nikki is glowing because you know, she's pregnant. The timeline is during Sleeping With The Agent, when she's guiding Reed. Remember she went to Skopje to assist Reed? Well, this novella is set just before, when she's telling Rick her decision to go. Can you imagine Rick's reaction? I have a good outline started too. Let's hope I don't go too off-course.

I need two more story ideas and am looking at all the suggestions y'all have given me in the past. Some of Lady Z.'s were very good! I know you're wanting more Jed, but if I do, it'll have to be set way in the past before Hell because, as you know, anything showing Jed in action means there'd probably be a woman around. He could be in "Stefan" mode, you know. But are you, the reader, ready to read about Jed being with another woman? One thing cool about this anthology is that it's possible to do something like this, catching a glimpse of scenes in the GlowWorld "past" that you could read alone, if you aren't familiar with it, and yet, if you have read the other books, you'd know where to insert these incidences.

I think it'll be another fun project (something different to learn to craft) while struggling through Viking Dude and patiently waiting for news about my proposals on editors' desks. You do remember that I have T's and Alex's story as one of my proposals, right? Think positive thoughts for a sale when you have a few minutes to spare, 'kay? To be honest, I'd much, much prefer to work on their story ;-).

The current plan is to get this anthology out in three or four months, depending on how the writing goes and whether I'll have good news from my agent about the proposals. Yes, I wish I could write super-fast too. This is one skill I'm still learning to master.

Anyway, I hope you're as excited about my newest project/plan as I am. I think I'll post a few of pages of the SEALs get-together as soon as I wrestle back some control of the story and let these alpha dudes know who's in charge of the story. ***giving them the Clint Eastwood squint***

Awesome BBW Review

I'm happy to have a second review for Big Bad Wolf. Riley blogs about books she reads and I'm happy to see that she gave me four stars out of five.

Thank you, Riley, for taking the time to write a review for Big Bad Wolf. It means a lot because unlike previous books, no ARCs were sent out to review sites and I hadn't expected too many people knowing about this particular book.

Here's the LINK to the review. Check out all of Riley's recommendations too!

Yay! Now I can put review links under the Big Bad Wolf cover! Mrs. Giggles wrote the first one.

P/S To be honest, I didn't rewrite BBW too much. I mostly updated the technology. For example, there were very few people with cell phones or laptops when I wrote the story. Some of the lingo was also too 90s, so I edited and revised that.

General Writing Ketchup

YAY I FINISHED VIKING DUDE'S PROPOSAL. //doing Calvin and Hobbes Happy Dance. You guys don't know how hard I've been wrestling this particular project. Now that it is done, I can concentrate on writing while waiting for word from editors:

1) continuing Viking Dude
2) starting the novellas for Rick/Nikki, or the SEAL team haranguing their buddy Reed's wealth, or one of the many excellent suggestions in past posts for another print project (poll coming)

Update on the sales of Big Bad Wolf Project:

30 orders the first week of Feb., so in six weeks, 220 books have been sold. Race fans are in town this week and I'm going to be doing a signing, so hopefully, I'll have good sales numbers next weekend!

I'm still keeping the poll up because reader emails are still coming asking about Virtually Hers, so I just direct them to this blog. It says that 500 people have voted (plus/minus 5 percent of repeat voters) and I'm still amaze that the percentage is staying the same--93 percent voting "yes" over 6 percent voting "no." I'm thinking, generally, readers who want to read the story don't care who publishes it, only that it gets published. The only issue for most readers is that they get a good quality book, both inside and outside (meaning, comparable to the books they buy at Amazon or any bookstore). Am I right?

I think I did a pretty good job with Big Bad Wolf. I haven't heard any complaints from readers yet (fingers crossed) about the story or the print quality. Anyway, it was a good test and I enjoyed the experiment. It gave me confidence that I can keep my promise of getting Virtually Hers and Virtually One out, one way or another ;-).

So, starting the coming week in good spirits. What about you--any positive news/plans to share? Maybe we can make a good vibes bubble around us and be such teh bouncy shiny happy peeps all week that others would grab us by the shoulders and ask, "What's got into you? You're just grinning all damn week. Are you pregnant or something?!"

That's the plan, anyway. So...tell me your positive plans, no matter how small--writing plans, silly ideas, crazy work load--and we'll put the GLow Mojo on them tonight!

100 And It's Not The Temperature

Good news! On the third week since BBW has been on sale, I finally sold copy #100, with 80 percent sales from Amazon. I do have a 20 book order from overseas, so next week's numbers should be good too! I think that's not bad at all, considering I gave away the story in e-book form for a few months, so quite a number of people who would've bought the book probably haven't. What do you think?

It's not a lot of money but there is enough profit to maybe buy me that Esus mini notebook AND even groceries! And the month isn't over yet ;-).

Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate your buying my POD book. If you have any suggestions on how to make the book better (whether the font is too small or the paper quality not to your liking, etc.), please let me know, so I can make it a better product for you and others. And yes, glad you enjoyed Killian's story too. ;-)

CONTEST FROM A FEW DAYS AGO (prize: Amazon gift cert) STILL OPEN TILL FRIDAY

********

It is still too freaking cold for Florida. We are under a hard freeze warning tonight and tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to waking up at 5am and going outside. Yes, how I hate the miserable, cold and yucky dawn. I'll be standing outside for 45 minutes and trying to be chirpy.

Not that chirpy works.

Today, after watching me work and not saying anything for a while, the contractor asked me, "So how low are you on the totem pole that you are left to do all the nailing grunt work by yourself?"

I replied, "I'm so low on the totem pole even my last name is Low."

Didn't even. Crack. A. Smile.

Wow, Two Weeks Of 2009 Gone By Already!

Today, my oddball stories made a guy laugh so hard that he told the others that I gave him a six-pack. There you go, that's how Joe Six-Packs come about, listening to Gennita's crazy adventures ;-).

The Facebook Project has given me a surprise! I sold 20 books in the last two days. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm glad more readers looking for me have found out about Big Bad Wolf.

What do you guys think about the new proposed law to ban ALL cell phones while driving, even hands-free ones? Will On-Star go out of business? Do you think this will pass? I don't like people driving with one hand myself (especially while eating or smoking at the same time!) but to ban hands free ones too seems a bit overdoing it. I mean, what next? They're going to ban my checking email while cruising down the highway? Heehee.

Four hours of 24 (Jack Bauer + Tony Almaeda = TWU BROMANCE LUV) these past two nights (with out-of-town traveling) have really exhausted me, so please excuse the disjointed post. My body isn't happy with the hours. My brain is not happy that I insist on writing while my back aches. We no like waking up at an insane early hour. Hate dawn. Hate the cold.

Oh well, the Joes of the world need me to work on their six-packs.

********
Oh, Lady Z emailed and gave me a great novella suggestion too! She wanted the Stooges to give Reed (Joker) a hard time about his money. Now, that could be funny, huh?

Keep those ideas coming, girls. Tease and stimulate my writing muscles.

So, is it me, or is 2009 starting like a speeding stallion?! When life is this fast, can you afford not to lose your cell phone yakking while driving? I mean, we need to squeeze as much as we can, in the time we have!

Post #3: My R-Rated Book Trailer

Here comes trouble. That was the first thought that crossed Jaymee's mind when she saw him walking around.

"I'm looking for work," he said. "Do you have any job openings?"

Jaymee's eyes traveled down the length of him.... If he could roof, she thought, then she could build a rocket ship.

She arched a brow at him. "You need tools," she said.

"I'm good with guns," he told her.

Nick's eyes narrowed a fraction. She was going to be trouble. Her ass, for one thing, roused his interest. Very much.

Jaymee blinked. Oh no, she had seen that look before. It was the Big Bad Wolf! He was neither nice nor safe.

Oh-oh, mutant pombabies might be on the way in 60 days.... Sigh.

First Official Review of Big Bad Wolf!

And perhaps the only one ;-)!

Mrs. Giggles wrote a review of Big Bad Wolf, noting that "this is not a first draft vomited out for public consumption." LOL. I'm also going to use this as my cover quote:

"Nicholas Langley" would have made the world a happier place by swinging around a stripper pole than swinging a hammer....

Bwahaha!

Mrs. Giggles reads and reviews a lot of self-pubbed books, so she knows what she's talking about. I'm just giddy with excitement to actually get some publicity. Hopefully, the many visitors there will give Big Bad Wolf a try. Thank you, Mrs. Giggles for generating interest in my project.

***************************************

Another big thank you, everyone, for making the first week of 2009 end on a high note--including overseas orders, I'm TWO short of selling 100 copies of BBW since it went on sale a week ago! Yay.

Has any of you received your copy yet? Let me know your opinion about the paper/color/print quality. Since I chose the picture on the cover and the font type and size, I'm curious about your thoughts. Making the font bigger would add pages, which would make the book more expensive, so I stuck with the standard paperback font size. Is it too small?

I have had several emails/posts remarking how they didn't like the cover. As I said before, I couldn't afford the mocked-up Nathan Kamp one, LOL. Sexy beast that he is, I just couldn't justify the hundreds of dollars he'd have charged me for use of his...body ;-). But seriously, would you have preferred a mantitty cover? One fun thing about POD through Amazon is that I can make changes to any typos or covers with minimum cost, so if you catch any while you read, let me know.

To be honest, I didn't know what the response would be to the Big Bad Wolf project. However it does will definitely help me decide whether to go this route with Virtually Hers, so help me out by spreading the word on your blogs and through word-of-mouth to your local UBS, okay? Tell your UBS I give a discount to booksellers so they can make a profit too ;-).

Hee Hee I'm Gobsmacked

I'm grinning like a happy piglet. See the big goofy smile? I know, I know, the uberauthor looks like Uncombed Uncaffeined UberOther too but DON'T pay attention to THAT.

It's really for a rather silly reason too because it's ultimately meaningless, but I'm having a ball showing it off anyway (hey, little celebrations make my day these days).

What is it, what is it?

It's my Amazon sales ranking. This morning it was 20,000 something, up from 1,000,000 from yesterday. AHAHAHAHA. You know what would be the bestest New Year present? If Big Bad Wolf somehow shot up to the top 900. That would be aWHsome Sauce (that's another new phrase to add to my blog post below. That crept into my vocab too, from somewhere...awhsome sauce).

Anyway, can I say a wOOt for you girls? Because I didn't do this, you know--YOU DID. Some of you went and bought a few dozen books from Amazon last night while I slept and gave me a neat surprise present this morning. And that's why I have this cheeky li'l grin.

Your turn: what silly little thing happened to you today that made you dance a little jig?

Save De Author, Buy De Book

Heads up! BIG BAD WOLF is now up at AMAZON.COM! Yippeeeee!

Thank you for ordering my book from either GLOW WORLD or at Amazon. I'm so psyched! Why? I'm getting my stories out again ;-). AND, according to accounts, I'm up to 20 sold, so the expenses (buying cover photos, etc.) have been paid off and I have some left for a Christmas present, yay! ;-)

Many doggy kisses from the hungry mutant furbabies too. LOL. Yes, I'm pulling out all the stops.... No heartstrings shall be left untugged. Next post, the infamous threat of boiled puppy....

Big Bad Wolf Available!

Happy Day After Christmas ;-). Any good presents to report?

It isn't up on the Amazon site yet but you can purchase Big Bad Wolf at GLOW WORLD. The shipping charges varies but cost me about $3 to Florida.

Ordering from here will make me a couple of dollars more than at Amazon, which charges more for the privilege of the access. If you're ordering just one book, please get it from GLOW WORLD, but if you're ordering in bulk, going over $25, it's better to wait for my book to show up at Amazon because you can take advantage of the free shipping.

BOOK STORE OWNERS and interested OVERSEAS readers/bookstore owners, please contact me via email.

BOOK STORE OWNERS
I can order bulk at an author's discount rate for book stores and will also ship overseas because it'd be cheaper through me.

OVERSEAS/INTERNATIONAL
I heard Amazon charges an arm and a leg for overseas shipping. Depending on location, I can probably include shipping for the price of the book.

If I do get these types of orders, I'll set up a Paypal button for payment and you can pay that way.

This is going to be an interesting experiment ;-). My next adventure is doing a local signing at the book store of BBW and all my other books. I'll also share with you the "numbers" because we're in this business venture together, yes?

Books Make Nice Prizes And Gifts!

Books are wonderful gifts. Here are some great reasons:

1) They are relatively cheap
2) They promote mental health
3) They are easy to wrap
4) You can read it first before gifting them
5) They take you away from boring daily life
6) They help starving authors to buy Christmas gifts for their loved ones

So many absolutely irrefutable reasons. Why would you want to go walking round and round in the malls when you could be browsing bookshelves of...books?! (In my best Craig Ferguson--of whom I adore, adore, adore--imitation) I know! I'm such a genius.

And of course I have a few ways for you to get a good book:

The Keanu! BlahBlahBlah! Caption Contest will be open till Friday, so put on your funny thinking caps. Come on...look at the prizes ;-). BOOKS! Or, don't you at least want a $10 Amazon gift cert.? It can go to pay for your order of, ahem, Big Bad Wolf. Just sayin'.

And when does Big Bad Wolf go live, anyway, Jenn?

Well, glad you asked. I just finished reading the ARC for typos and making changes and will be waiting for Amazon's email to me for the thumbs up. Then you can start ordering. I'm just so happy to get this ready before Christmas.

I was also thinking that some of you might need suggestions for new authors to try out to get to $25, which qualifies you for free shipping at Amazon. Let's put out some names on this thread.

Who is a new author you've discovered this year that you've really enjoyed?

My recommendation is Ilona Andrews' superb Magic series. It's urban fantasy, with a heroine who's a mercenary who cleans up magic gone wrong in a post-apocalyptic Atlanta (YO, LADY ZANNAH!!!!!). The love interest is the Lord of Beast, a werelion named Curran. Trust me. You want to meet Curran. ;-)

Your turn.

There, some of your Christmas shopping anxieties taken care of. I know! I'm a genius!
