REMINDER: VIRTUALLY HIS ARC CONTEST (See Feb 15 post)
****************
That's Happy New Year in Cantonese. It's...um...4704 according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar. And it's the year of the Water Red Boar (pig).
Of all the Chinese festivals, I miss New Year the most. It's a combination of our American Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving and Homecoming all in one two week span, with lots of noise, family gatherings, money packets (our "Christmas" presents to children), FOOD (lots and lots of food), and lion/dragon dances. I wanted to go to New York this year to celebrate New Year in Chinatown but couldn't do it due to datelines. So I'll just have to enjoy this short video of the Chinese New Year show in Manhattan:
To all my Chinese friends out there, here's wishing you Sin Nien Kwai Le! May your coming year be one giant Hung Bao! ;-)
