Virtually His and Virtually Hers Song

I've forgotten about this video that I have! I love this song and it's one that I played many, many times while writing Virtually His and Virtually Hers.  Enjoy! But remember, Gerard is still MINE.

My Gerard Butler To Start The Year

It looks like a good "light" romantic suspense romp ;-).

I hope it does better than the last romantic comedy he did, the one with the Grey's Anatomy actress.

My Personal Uber Sweet Potato

WINNER OF SHILOH WALKER'S HUNTING THE HUNTER IS SQ, the Yankees' Handmaiden. Please email me, sweets! You win some monkey nuts too ;-).

*******************************************

What is wrong with these people (whoever these people are...)?! They didn't put my Gerry Butler in the Top 10 of the People's Sexiest Man?! Not even Top 15?! Are they nuts?!!!!!!!

He made the Top 100. Sniff. ::::grumble, grumble::::

Here is his pretty face and quote:

Gerard on People's Top 100 Sexiest Men

Have they not look closely at that face? Those abs in 300? Gotten mesmerized by that accent? My Gerry should have placed in the top 10 this year ;-).

They did put Patrick Dempsey at #2. Do you know who beat them all? Matt Damon. Here's the complete LIST and PICS.

**********
I found an Asian sweet potato ball recipe that sounds do-able for experts like me:

Ingredients:

1 lb of sweet potatoes
12 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
3 1/2 tablespoons of sugar
3 tablespoons of sesame seeds
Water
Oil for deep frying

Boil the sweet potatoes for 15 minutes. Peel the skin of the sweet potatoes and discard. Smash the sweet potatoes and combine them with flour, sugar, and just enough water to form a smooth dough that is soft in texture but not sticky.

Divide dough into small, equal portions and roll them into balls. Coat the balls with some sesame seeds. Deep fry the sweet potato balls till golden brown. Dish out and drain well before serving.

There, I think I can satisfy my sweet potato craving with this. Tomorrow...sexy sweet potato pictures!

************

The Kirkland Files are done, but the server is acting wonky and we needed to double check everything to make sure the pictures come out right. Be patient. You'll love them when we unveil the lovely COS Commandos for your Thanksgiving feast ;-).

Tomorrow, if I remember, I'll tell about Ranger Buddy's Sweet Potato story. It's 30 years old and it's still quite...umm...interesting.

Uber Bad Boy's Bird Day

Guess whose birthday it was yesterday?

Yesssss...it's my Gerry's birthday ;-). And of course, there's nothing like a Gerry Birthday Video:

Sigh. The man is perfect at 38.

And his Beowulf and Grendel movie, filmed in Iceland, isn't available on screen in the States. Wahhhh. So here is the trailer:

I love Gerry best when he's intense and warrior-like ;-). Have any of you living outside the States been able to catch this movie? How was it?

Another Kind of Uber Spy

Yesterday I went to see my man doing his magic in Michael Clayton. He looked soooo gooooood. And he acted the shit out of the main character, Michael Clayton.

The movie is a thriller for adults, with none of the Diehard fast-paced action that moves a plot breathlessly along. Yet the slowly building tension and unravelling of events still leave one breathless and at the edge of one's seat.

I really enjoyed my darling George's subtle and nuanced acting. Totally, totally OSCAR material. His eyes said everything that needed to be said about the situation he found himself in.

I liked that the writer, Gilroy, who also wrote all the Bourne movie scripts, treated the story intelligently, with rich dialogue that left lots of blanks for viewers to fill. No one was black and white; everyone's hands were dirty. Yet this cliche was handled without loud propaganda. The characters--even the bad guys--were given a human dimension rarely seen in good guy/bad corporation movies. The motivations behind each character was shown and not told, as each one desperately went after their own agenda.

Michael Clayton is the kind of story I love -- non-linear, unexpected twists, angsty male lead, untold background ripe for my imagination, layered dialogue. And of course, George Clooney in a New York suit, looking slightly ragged but still sexy and suave despite his standing at the edge of the cliff.

Go watch. Beautifully made movie. Beautifully made man. ;-)

And hey, don't miss the trailer of MY GERRY BUTLER in PS I Love You. He sure didn't look like King Leonidas in this one!

Strike An Uber Roofer Pose

Ugh.

Ranger Buddy gave me my first August birthmonth present -- tearing off a double-layered roof that crumbles into moldy pieces at the first shovel. Life cannot get any ickier. And hotter.

No. It CAN get hotter!

I daydream while melting in the sun. I daydream of my helpers around me looking like these guys:

While I wipe the sweat out of my shingle-grimed fingers, I should be able to feast my eyes on swirling capes and broad, tanned chests such as these. Not the smoking, hanging potbellied, stinky, three-day old teeshirted variety that just kills my birthday mood ;-).

No, no, back to my daydream. In the middle of sweeping roof debris down into the dump truck, Gerard Butler in all his eight-pack glory will leap from the gable to my side to assist me.... These guys will stride around in their loincloths repairing rotten wood and carrying bundle of shingles for me. Yeah....

Happy Birthmonth, Gennita Low. ;-) And oh, you MUST watch ze video, set to Madonna's Vogue. It is Mah-vellous. There are such creative and talented people out there.

Let's watch it again...Pretty. Mine. Pretty. Uh huh. Mine too. Sweet. Definitely Mine. MINE! ;-)

Why Reread?

Up next, I think: Jacquelyn Frank's GIDEON. I enjoyed Jacob and JF's demon/druid world very much. Looking forward to this second book!

Actually, there are several books I would love to buy right now, but RWA is coming up and I can get autographed ones if I'm patient! Of course, I just stated a few days ago that I had to give away a box of books because of space problems, LOL. I just can't stop reproducing the piles!

When I visit my friends' houses, I'm always amazed at how neat their shelves are. Those who don't read much have uncluttered and OPEN shelves. One picture frame would take up an entire four foot section. I always want to yell at them, "Do you know that's Prime Space for at least 40 paperbacks doubledecked?!" ;-) On the other hand, when my friends visit me, they just stare at my shelves in horror. If they bring somebody new along, the person would say, "I guess you like to read, huh?"

Are you one of those who can't bear to box away their books in the attic/basement/garage? I need them all around me so that when I get the urge to reread a particular scene, it's somewhere... ummm...around that corner.... I actually know a few readers who just read the book once and then throw/donate it away; they never reread. Never reread! They said they don't have the time and besides, they don't get why people reread anyway. I bet they'll think me crazy if they ever see me sitting in a pile of books happily picking up one and then another and reading this scene and that scene ;-).

I was talking about Anne Stuart's Moonrise the last two days. Now I get the urge to go dig up that book and reread!

Why do you reread? Or are you one of those one-time-only readers?

I mean, I never get tired of looking at Gerard:

Interrupted By Gerard

Some readers complained my stories have too much violence for them. Have they read Keri Arthur? Yoikes. I've been smoking through her first three books but man, each installment brings on more violence than The Sopranos. Can the heroine be raped one more time?!

Of course, it's partially my fault because I'm glomming the series, and that's usually not recommended for any author. I've nothing against Arthur's writing style, though, just the way the story arc is progressing. I'm engrossed in it and then...grossed out...and then engrossed in it and then grossed out again. LOL. Is that good? I have no idea. But it certainly is making read Book Four, Dangerous Game, a lot slower.

Do you get like that? Glom an author's works and end up feeling like you've eaten too much of a good thing?

Of course, there's no such thing as too much Gerard Butler for me:
GERARD: IN HIS OWN WORDS

You have to stay till the end of this video just for his last words ;-). ***THUD***

Bad boy. Vampires. Angsty sexahness. I can glom him all day....

(Once again, a post filled with great potential crashed by lust and left on the roadside of Good Intentions)
