I love him even more now that they show him when he was dark and angsty, full of anger. None of that Smooth Bond Act yet...just edgy and a bit out of control. I can't wait! Even though the title is a mouthful: Quantum of Solace.

I think it's because I don't really buy it. It feels like they are trying to reinvent the character to me. Bond isn't an intense, broody, hurting guy. He's Mr. Smooth; to me, that's just who he is.
This is supposed to be Bond in the early years, before* he became Bond, James Bond. In these movies, he hadn't gotten to the martini thing yet, or the smooth facade guy yet, or even Q the Gadget Guy yet...each of the forthcoming movies are supposed to slowly make him into the Bond we know in the older movies. Really, they're sort of doing the Prequels to Bond.

I know, you'd think I'd love this new Bond, but I can't stand him. I definitely prefer the suave, urbane Bond.

I get that. Maybe the writers don't have as deft a touch as needed to help me see the evolution.
