Sunday Dark Hero

Holy Bond!

I love him even more now that they show him when he was dark and angsty, full of anger. None of that Smooth Bond Act yet...just edgy and a bit out of control. I can't wait! Even though the title is a mouthful: Quantum of Solace.

Must make time to see. You guys plannin' to go?

Bear with me while I learn. The first button likes the POST. The second button likes the BLOG site. Please help me by "liking" me. Thanks!

Oh yum! Definitely, yes. I love the new Bond.

I know, you'd think I'd love this new Bond, but I can't stand him. I definitely prefer the suave, urbane Bond.

I can't believe you are supporting a Bond that is not PB!! And you call yourself my friend. Sheesh.

Mo, really? Why?

Jessica, oh, but I still love PB. You know I do! ;-) It's just that this one has a different swagger about him.

I think it's because I don't really buy it. It feels like they are trying to reinvent the character to me. Bond isn't an intense, broody, hurting guy. He's Mr. Smooth; to me, that's just who he is.

But Mo,

This is supposed to be Bond in the early years, before* he became Bond, James Bond. In these movies, he hadn't gotten to the martini thing yet, or the smooth facade guy yet, or even Q the Gadget Guy yet...each of the forthcoming movies are supposed to slowly make him into the Bond we know in the older movies. Really, they're sort of doing the Prequels to Bond.

I get that. Maybe the writers don't have as deft a touch as needed to help me see the evolution.

"What are you doing sis? Halloween isn't for another 9 months!"

Regency/historical are my fav genres.

A friend wants me to go watch it but I've never been a Bond fan. Is this where I claim to have food poisoning?

Watch it! Be brave. Maybe you'll like this Bond.
