Anonymous wrote in yesterday's comment area that she flipped through her favorite books to reread, and it's not "those" scenes that she rereads. Me too. I like flipping through my keepers to reread scenes that captivated and got to me during my first read.
Off the top of my head:
1) Roarke and Eve's button in J. D. Robb's Naked In Death. I don't know why I love, love, LURV that scene.
2) The naked Kell Sabin and the knife in Linda Howard's Diamond Bay.
3) The running of the oars contest in Helen Mittermeyer's Princess of the Veils.
4) The beginning scene of Mikhail alone in Christine Feehan's Dark Prince
5) Jacques, in a mad state, biting into the very weak Shea, to make sure she stays with him when his Carpathian family showed up, and she calming him.
6) That scene of Linda Howard's Kiss Me While I Sleep, when it looked like her lover had poisoned her.
Oooh, now you make me want to go to my bookshelves and play with my books! These particular scenes make me shiver, transport me to another world, and is why I love reading romance. Do you have scenes that you love rereading over and over again through the years?

Yes, I do. Guess that is why I buy the books more than ebooks. I love the poison scene in Kiss Me too, and have reread it several times. The beach scene in Windflower by Laura London, where Cat has a woman with him under the tree. The scene in Howard's Against the Rules where he is out of bed and has ripped his jeans to get them over the cast. Lisa Marie Rice, scene in Midnight Man where he has her against the wall by her front door. Howard again, couch scene, All the Queen's Men. Facing Fear, the shower scene when they were young and happy. Really, way too many books and moments to list. I think of a scene, go dig out the book, and reread the whole book.
Yep I agree with you on most of those, but I have a few to add.
- The opening scene of Into Danger with M and Stash's first encounter.
-The scene in Howard's "Shades of Twilight" where Web finds out that his heroine (can't remember her name) almost died.
- Entire La Howard Novels (pre-contemporary thriller romance) where the hero rips out the heroines heart over a misconception. It's the tear jerkers.
- In Feehan's "Ocean's of Fire" when Jodie is interacting with the dark Mafia guy.
Of course there are other that include "those" scenes but more often than not it's the ones that make you dream about happily ever after or at least kicking some butt!
Over the Edge by Suz Brockmann when Alyssa comes back into Sam's room and finds him crying on the floor. *sniff*
LH-the couch scene in All the Queen's Men.
Almost Heaven-Judith McNaught when Elizabeth comes into the courtroom when Ian is being tried for her murder.
Paradise-Judith McNaught when Matt realizes that Meredith did miscarry their baby, not abort her. And when Meredith tells him about the flowers.
Oh God...the couch scene. B_E_A_Utiful.
Ohh, this is fun, Jenn,
In LH's CUTTING EDGE when Tessa went hoarse from crying so hard when Brent's betrayal finally sunk in.
FACING FEAR--when Rick is so emotional yet strong when bringing Nikki up through the (?) air vent.
The scene where the little girls are running around the rock screaming in J Garwood's SECRET.
When Butch explained to Marissa the real reason why he wanted to go through the Transition in JR Ward's LOVER REVEALED.
There are more but I'll stop there.

I'm w/everyone with L. Howard's couch scene from All the Queen's Men. But my fave is when Niema and John first kiss b/c, wow! Where's my John Medina?
Also, L. Howard's Cover of Night when Tucker and Tanner are jumping on their beds...nekkid.
Of course, G. Low's Facing Fear with Rick washing Nicki's hair. And Virtually His when Hell's surrounded by all 9 and wondering...which one?
C. Adair's Hide & Seek when they're chased off a cliff and have that wild kiss under a waterfall while clinging to a rusty ladder.
L. Kleypas' Lady Sophia's Lover when Ross steals kisses from Sophia while they're putting away groceries.
J. Quinn's Brighter than the Sun, when Charles falls out of a tree and onto Ellie's feet.
S. Laurens' Devil Bride where Devil catches Honoria eavesdropping and picks her up off her feet.
Take your pick.
Wow. Reading everyone's scenes makes me want to get the books! A few of my faves:
Mary talking to Rhage's beast near the end of JR Ward's Lover Eternal.
Into Danger when Marlena searches Stash for weapons.
Facing Fear when Rick and Nikki run into Jed on the trail and he's in front of the sign that says STOP.
JR Ward's Lover Awakened when Z faints and wakes up to all the brothers and shellans surrounding him.
