Post #2: Marriott Hotel, You're Full Of Fail

Woman was sexually assaulted at the Marriott's parking garage while STRAPPING HER CHILDREN into their carseats. She sued the hotel for security's failure to note of the perp's loitering in the hotel area. Marriott's defense? Woman "failed to exercise due care for her own safety and the safety of her children."

CONN Marriott Claims Rape Victim Was Careless And Negligent

So, yeah, it's really her fault since she was busy taking care of her kids. And how dare you bend over like that?

Words fail me. Marriott lawyers = morons.

Bear with me while I learn. The first button likes the POST. The second button likes the BLOG site. Please help me by "liking" me. Thanks!

This is why rape case go unreported. The woman is always to blame. I hope the woman in up with Millions and Millions of dollars.

Grrrrrr.... I have two children myself and before they could strap their own selves in, that was always a major concern for me to have my back to the world for that very reason as well as hi-jackings. Still is a concern for me. However, in a lot of vehicles, you simply can't help it if you have to bend over and strap young ones in. I hate this has happened to her. Especially in FRONT of her children no less! Something she or they will never forget. I would THINK a major hotel chain like that would a little sympathy on her behalf.

In my country, about half of the cases go un-reported & those of which are reported too stretch on for years & years(so the faith of the people in the law is pretty less & rightly so). A WOMAN is always blamed as if it's her fault there are some spinless psycho's out there.[Sorry I won't say more coz I'm pretty sure I'll start abusing]. This is a very senstive issue for me & I am pretty sure for all women.
Those "Marriot" guys deserve to be taken for a ride in millions. How dare they insult a woman that way & then blame the woman.

I am incredibly saddened by this story. For as many steps forward women have taken, the reality is we still need to kick some more doors down. I hope the judgement is/was in her favor. I also hope someone cut his man part off, but that's just my opinion.

Yah, this case is just absolutely horrifying to read about. Imagine having all that out in court, being told that YOU ARE AT FAULT for being raped. Man, I want to see the jury's faces.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- A Marriott International hotel is abandoning its defense in a lawsuit brought by a Connecticut woman raped at gunpoint in a garage in front of her children that she was careless and partially at fault for the 2006 attack.

Marriott withdrew its claim Monday that the victim "failed to exercise due care for her own safety and the safety of her children and proper use of her senses and facilities." Her attacker was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

After court papers were disclosed last week, Marriott issued a statement that it is "profoundly sorry that such a terrible thing happened to the victim of this violent crime" in its parking garage.
