Still Morphing

Nothing much to report these days. I'm still waiting to hear from my editor about the BBW e-download idea. I'm hoping she's reading the manuscript by now and thinking about what a great promotional idea I gave her ;-). I received many positive responses about the e-download from many readers and booksellers and am collecting them in a file so I can email it to her in a few weeks.

Another promotional idea is to send as many books as I can afford to different conventions as giveaways. So I told my dogs I can't feed them food any more and they would have to go hunt for rabbits....kidding, KIDDING!

Actually, Mira, one of my mutant poms, did come home the other day with a fresh kill in her mouth. It was a small bunny rabbit. Words cannot describe my shock. None of my furbabees have ever hunted or killed before, not even a squirrel. Sob. My mutant poms are now killer mutant poms.

I now joke with my dogsitter that I've found the reason why they aren't eating. They're hunting their own dinner out there in the dangerous wilds of my...garden. Oh Brando boy, since you left us, your children are out of control.

Reading-wise, I've finished Linda Howard's Up Close and Dangerous and doing my usual flip-through/backwards and forward reading of Keri Arthur's newest, Embraced By Darkness. Yes, I read starting from backwards sometimes, so sue me.

For those of you who have read it, I have a question. A very important question. Umm...what was your reaction when Riley Jensen shapeshifted into a...seagull?

My reaction: "Oh noz! I'm falling! And werewolves can't fly! Abracadabra! Hey, I can flyyyyyy! I'm a...seagull!"

A wereseagull? Seriously?

Sigh. And the next book isn't a Riley Jensen book, wahhhh. So how am I going to find out whether she has other were-genes in her? You know I love my "super soldierspy in virtual reality" idea because there are endless techy possibilities. Why didn't I add were-genetic blood to the mix? Then my Hell would have more skillz than Riley Jensen, super soldier werespy. ;-)

I hope there's a next Riley book. I want Quinn back. I want an alien-angel-vampire/ werewolf-vampire-seagull coupling.

So, what are y'all reading?

Bear with me while I learn. The first button likes the POST. The second button likes the BLOG site. Please help me by "liking" me. Thanks!

I went to the midnight book release party Monday night for "Devil May Cry" by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Now that was an experience!! No swan hats, but she did bring along the guy who reads the audiobook and had him pour himself into a pair of leather pants. He was pretty cute.

So naturally I'm reading "Devil May Cry". Nearly done and it's a great read so far. I love Ash but would really like to see some sort of confrontation between him and Artemis. (sigh) She always seems to get her way.

You know, it's funny but I happened to pick up and skim through (read a whole lot of it) that Riley book. It was kinda funny about the seagull and I thought, of course, of Jonathan Livingston Seagull. LOL But, in the end I was disappointed with the book. Didn't know it was part of a series. To be honest, I've been thinking a lot about that book, but can't really discuss why here (spoiler issue).

A seagull? In Christine Warren's Wolf at the Door there was a senator that was a wererat, very appropiate for him don't you think?

Seagull??? They heeb me out almost as much as the whole swan thing in the latest LKH. What is it with the birds man????? Something cool and macho like a hawk or eagle, but a seagull. All they do is crap on my windscreen at work!

I am re reading Passion by Lisa Valdez. When oh when is the next one coming?? Then I have Liquor by Poppy Z. Brite. It is a book set in NO about 2 guys who are chefs. There is a blurb at Amzon. Read her books years ago - Drawing Blood and Lost Souls. Both very sexy and kinda horror... cool!

Hi Leilani,
Sounds like a great time at the signing, leather pants and all. One of the fun things about Ash is that no matter how powerful he is, Artemis is there to reign him in. ;-)

Monique,
Now you have to email me privately to tell me what you've been thinking about because I KNOW YOU LOVE to analyze. This series is a good one for analysis too!

Isabel,
Yeah, appropriate indeed. But I sometimes think all these were-animals (rats? swans? lizards?) are getting too creepy.

Sarah,
Actually, Arthur had her heroine making fun of her new abilities that way too, as in "why seagull? Why not an eagle?" It was meant to be a funny scene. However, it interrupted my suspension of disbelief.

I just finished Up Close and Dangerous. I enjoyed it, what did you think of it?

Hi Joyce,

I like this better than her last one. It's very reminiscent of her old style except that it ended too quickly! I wanted more of the relationship and it would have been nice to see that being developed after they were rescued. It would have been interesting if Cam didn't figure out the bad guy so quickly, so the suspense element could be dragged out while he and Bailey can explore their relationship back in normal situations, you know? More hot sex (off the mountain, of course) would have been great! ;-)
