Who says there's no cross-breeding in romance? ;-) Check out Eclyse, product of a secret holiday romance between a horse (sure surprised her owners when baby came out), named Eclipse, and a zebra named Ulysses. Result: a zorse or a hebra, pick your name for the new breed. Oh Uly, you bad zebra-boy!
Baby Eclyse, though, will be shunned by other zebras and horses (ahem, dhampires Riley and Rhoan Jensen series) because she's so different. But who knows, maybe she'll possess something magical in her genetic make-up ;-). Stay tune. I see a whole series of books....

I think she's gorgeous. As a matter of fact, when my 5 y/o daughter saw her on the news, she wanted one.
I have had a lot of horses already in my life and worked in many show barns, and I have only ever once seen one horse react to another because of its color. I had a 3 year old I was riding when my trainer friend brought out a butt-ugly LOUD colored Appaloosa LMAO my colt was terrified of it, dancing all over, but after a half hour in the arena it was no biggie.
Horses. LOL!
That is a very cool colored hybrid, I'd love to hear how it's disposition is later. I've read that a zebra won't ever become domesticated enough to ride. (but I also seem to vaguely remember reading they couldn't cross with horses LOL) I know there are always exceptions to every rule, but if they were nice I know I would own one LOL!
Cool find :)
That's a pretty wild looking zebra pony. :) Have you seen the pic of the pink dolphin they phographed in a Louisiana lake?
Hi Casee,
I would love to pet her too!
Aimee,
There are articles about her if you google Eclyse. She's quiet and sometimes temperamental, and one of the articles recounted that the horses and zebras won't go near another known zorse, although this one didn't have stripes. Also, mixed breeds are genetically unable to breed, like mules, so that's why I brought up the comparison with the Riley Jensen series. RJ is a cross-bred vampire/werewolf and has been told she couldn't have children.
Leilani,
A pink dolphin? I must gooooogle! ;-)
