HAPPY EASTER!
I'm one of the authors Romantic Times is spotlighting on their website. Here is the link:
RT AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT
In it, I gave some details about the Virtual books and my heroine, Helen Roston. There's also a short excerpt.
I put my NEXT signing information on the right side of my blog here, so everyone who's going gets quick access. I'll be in Houston for RT and then next weekend, at The Almost Perfect Book Store in Roseville, Calif.
I've also added the links to the reviews I could find of Virtually His. The latest one is from Fresh Fiction, an excellent monthly newsletter, by the way. It has all kinds of tidbits of new books as well as author interviews.
Romance By The Blog has invited me to be a guest blogger there for mid-May. It's a great promotional opportunity but I have to come up with a question/topic for discussion. I looked at that site and everyone there seems to have great interesting questions already. Why can't I think of one? Sigh. I also need to write around 200-300 words too. I'm so good at irrelevant stupid stuff like half-nekkid men but writing topics???? Gah. Do you have any suggestions?
This promotion business is so hard for me. You'll find this hard to believe but RB and I have NEVER ADVERTISED or promoted our roofing business since we became partners oh, a thousand years ago. I didn't own a cell phone till I sold my manuscript in 2002 and it was only because of the death of public phones that forced RB to borrow my cell phone ;-). And of course, you know, RB just started the art of googling last year when he made that oath not to watch TV for the entire year. LOL.
See? I started talking about promoting my book and before I know it, I'm off on another tangent about my partner's aversion to technology. I'm just not good at self-promotion.
Here's what I'm good at:
Except for the exceptionally gay eyebrows, this could be Armando before training. LOL. But I don't think I can just post pictures at Romance By The Blog....
Bear with me while I learn. The first button likes the POST. The second button likes the BLOG site. Please help me by "liking" me. Thanks!

Just wanted to let you know that harlequin enclosed a very pretty and flourescent(sp) flyer, featuring two gorgeous covers and a lot of wonderful glow related info in with the june catalog information...which I saw on friday;)
As for Romance by the blog? Topic for discussion: The Cos commandos of course ;) The difference between the opener and closer, the roles they play...and can you see by looking at the men who inspired them....;) that is, if i've got the right blog(my matzah impaired brain might be wrong....)
Happy easter to those who celebrate :) Stacey the new york bookseller( who still wants to know when you're coming to new york ;)
Cool review! Maybe you could do something about technology, the whole giving up tv for a year. Good lord the man has stamina! I think something like that would be interesting.
Happy easter!
Who sez what you're good at is irrelevant and stupid? My advice is to go with what you ARE good at - drool-worthy heroes, yep - your new series featuring them and WHY you're laying on the erotic content as thickly as your publisher will allow - why? cos we all know romance readers are buying more erotica these days. Why is paranormal selling? I think it's coz it's conducive to creating hotter sex scenes and vanilla sex is passe...for the next ten romance-market years, anyway.
IMO, you are in the next generation of romantica authors and I'll be honest - you became an auto-buy for me when I saw that your spy-romances had such hot sex scenes, loads of sensuality, combustible chemistry between your H & H with great action-suspense. I believe these are the same reasons why the rest of your fans buy your books so why not talk about...us? What we are demanding from you these days, what we're complaining about these days (boring sex, not enough romance, romance authors forgetting they're writing for women and have started to give less romance and sex and overdo the action, gadgets and fantasy-building). I've been calling your books Spyrotica lately to differentiate it from others in the genre - like Brockmann, Gerard, Fetzer, Jenzen coz of your steamy sex and H/H chemistry.
Yeah, I think telling them why your COS commandos are the most erotic things on two (three?) legs that mainstream romantic suspense will allow.
...I'm still shaking my head at your thinking half-nekkid men is 'irrelevant stupid stuff'.
Why can't you put up a picture? They say a picture's worth a 1000 words...and it would give you an extar 700-800. :) Put one up of His Jedness. Yum.
Hi Stacey!
I didn't know you haven't been feeling well. Are you okay?
I'm excited that H/Q MIRA is doing some promotion for Virtually His! I can't wait to look at it when I come visit, which will be soon, I promise. I have several dates in mind...probably end of May or early June, 'kay?
Yes, it seems that the commandos is a topic of interest among readers who've read my work, but what of others I'm introducing them to? Talking about opener and closer and all that could confuse them.
Hi Sarah,
I know, that man has amazing determination, although for very odd things, such as not watching TV or not using a cell phone for a year ;-).
Hi Elaine,
Okay, maybe "stupid irreverant stuff" was harsh ;-). I was just in one of my moods. But compared to the really interesting things other wonderful writers come up with, I felt I was "inadequate." LOL. Happy now?
Spyrotica? Wow. That's a new one. I didn't think I was that hot! And which one of my spies have three legs again? ;-)
Hi Leilani,
Ah yes, Jed's picture. But wouldn't that sort of demystify him? Don't you want to just think you know what he looks like? ;-)
