Are you going to watch the new James Bond? Casino Royale, I think. At first, from what I could see, I didn't feel that he could pull it off.
I just saw the trailer and the man cleaned up soooooo goooood. He had that inscrutable coolness and suaveness that I've always imagined in my Bond heroes.
Daniel Craig can be the new Alex Diamond. Watch the trailer and see whether you can detect some Diamond in him (besides him being blond). That first scene, showing his second "kill." Oh, yeah. The aloofness. The heat in those ice-cold eyes when he looked at his woman. ***fanning self
Yeah, I think I'll like DC as Bond after all.

I haven't decided if I'm going to see it. I ADORED Pierce Brosnon as James Bond. But I agree that the trailer does look good...much better than I thought it would, anyway. Decisions, decisions.
I could see him as Alex, though.

I'm a HUGE James Bond fan -- both the movies and the books -- and I think the movies just keep getting better. The Brosnon [and now Craig] movies seem to be closer to the James I read in the books. The earlier ones, while good, were a bit campier and hollywood than I saw them to be in print.
The demeanor could be Alex but the nose doesn't work for me. It's a great nose for Alex but I picture him taller and having sharper features. Anyway, how would you recognize an accurate representation of Alex, you're just the author after all. :o)

I don't actually go out to the movies much but this one is tempting. As for him being Alex...I just like the presence. Alex is taller ;-).

Totally agree that this Bond is better than the early campy portrayal with the snarky one-liners.
I wasn't actually talking about the looks of the actor, more like the demeanor and a certain look in his eyes. ;-)
