This is a typical RB reaction:
Today he drove to the metal shop, where they make flashing and chimney caps, etc. Mr. Moody owns the place and he's at least 80 years old. RB has been going to Moody's since he started roofing and I've always said hi, admiring the old guy's ability to work all these years. RB works eight days a week for decades and so does Mr. Moody.
Well, a truck crashed into Moody's store front just minutes before RB arrived. When he showed up, there was half a truck sticking into the store and ambulances and cops were everywhere.
He walked in and bumped into Mr. Moody's daughter-in-law. She told him what happened, how the truck hit the front of the building where Mr. Moody always sat, crushing the metal-bending machinery, and missing Mr. Moody by inches. She told him she had been standing there and had pushed her father-in-law off his chair, out of the way. She recounted the horrible crunching noise when the truck mangled the thousand-dollar machines.
RB looked over at Mr. Moody, who was standing with a police detective, hands still busy working with the metal with which he was working. He turned back to the daughter-in-law.
He said, with a straight face, "The truck didn't crush my order of metal flashing, did he?"
THAT is RB for ya ;-).
