THE HUNTER is out TODAY!
I'm running to the stores to see whether the book is on the shelves ;-). You never know--sometimes they don't unpack the boxes in time and well, I need them out! On the shelves!!!
I will never get used to seeing my books in the bookstore. It's a combination of pride and nervousness, like watching your child perform on stage for the first time. This is my fourth "baby," and as you know, each child is different, so the expectation is different. Hawk's book is the anticipated one. He's the popular boy and everyone has great expectations. There's a bit more nervous energy when I think about him ;-).
July will be a big traveling and signing month too, so I'm not even sure whether I'll be able to blog as much. July 2, I'm flying off to DC. July 8 is a huge local signing in Daytona Beach at The Book Rack. Then on the 15th, I'm traveling Charleston, SC., to give a workshop at the RWA chapter there. After that, it's Colorado with some signings in Pikes Peak. RWA convention is on the 27th; there will be 450 authors at the Literacy signing! WOW. I'm tired already.
I'll try to remember to get the pics during the local signing. It's always a fun event, with about 40-50 people showing up. My bookseller friend does an amazing job with cookies and drinks, lots of promotion. Then all my construction friends come in all dirty and sweaty at around lunchtime just to admire my authorly frock ;-). The funniest group is the city inspectors. I'm friends with all of them, and like all city employees, they love to stand around and eat cookies. Heh.
I'm off to go ahunting for The Hunter!
