Two first-name only icons.
My first highheels. My first flickaway-bangs. Highschool ideas of glamor. Watching TV with my siblings--we all didn't speak English very well but it was fun to check out the clothes.
Rest in peace, Farrah.
Watching my dad dance. One of my first record collection. Watching my first moondance and being mesmerized by his dancing all over again. Giggling at his excuse for his lightening skin. That concert years ago--wow--that concert.
Rest in peace, Michael.
Not taking away Ed McMahon's passing, untimely deaths of icons of our own era remind us of our mortality. Time passes and we're reminded that each day should be lived fully.

I just found out about Michael and Farrah and I must say, I'm feeling a little devastasted. I don't know why. I usually take this type of news of celebrities in stride, but Michael's passing has thrown me. He was always around, my entire life, like a weird cousin I saw at family gatherings and now his time at this place, at this time is over. It makes me pause and really think about life.
Who knew I would be this affected.
Farrah fought her cancer bravely to the end. She will be missed.
Jackson's death has over-shadowed hers, but he, too, will be missed. Regardless of the strangeness, the accusations, etc., he was a talented artist who, I think, became trapped by his fame.
