Talking Of A Slow Load...

Gah, don't know why my blog is loading so slow, like a turtle with four broken legs today. The left column appears and the whole thing just hangs there for five to ten seconds, and then the rest of the blog appears. Huh. Strange, too, that it doesn't do that when I'm using Mozilla Firefox browser. No idea why. I hope visitors using IE haven't been having this problem all day.

Maybe the manty-hose pictures scared the blogger gods and they're punishing me for spreading this fashion trend? ;-) Hopefully, this is just a one-day glitch and things will be back to normal by tomorrow.

Midweek Question

This came up at a private forum and I found the replies/discussion very interesting. So I'm bringing it over here as my blog topic to see what my readers have to say.

The poster wrote that she loved to read scenes that show the hero pleasuring himself. Actually, she asked the question better than me: "does anyone else like a little up close and personal man-loving?" She cited her love of Victoria Dahl's "A Rake's Guide to Pleasure" and how she wished there were more romances out there featuring this type of erotic scene over the now saturated trend of vanilla butt secks.

What say you? Do you enjoy scenes of the hero showing some self-loving, whether alone or in front of the heroine?

Bear with me while I learn. The first button likes the POST. The second button likes the BLOG site. Please help me by "liking" me. Thanks!

It's a blogger site issue. It's not just your blog, but many others as well. Firefox just isn't as obvious as IE. Facebook is even worse on the lag today. Bleh. New virus going around that's been bogging servers down everywhere. Give it a few days for the infection to peak and things will speed back up again. I will recommend that anyone still using IE make the switch to Mozilla or some other browser. The virus only hits IE users. Flawed software coding in the browser that's never really been fixed. If nothing else, make sure you apply the latest microsoft update patches if you're going to use IE to surf until the thing slows down.

Regarding the man-loving... It's all context, really. It can be incredibly erotic to see a hero doing a little DIY action. It depends on the scene, the characters, the plot... If used appropriately, it can show an incredible insight into the longing and emotional state of the hero. In that case, it's a beautiful thing. Used wrong, it can be incredibly callous and humiliating to the heroine. I've seen it done well and horribly bad. It's all contextual.

Thank you, Heather, for explaining about the IE/Virus issues. Better patch up the old IE, folks!

As for self-loving, Jed does it in VHers ;-). Very, very short scene, maybe a few paragraphs ;-).
And it's not in VR either, heh heh.

What do they mean more of it? seems to me every book I've read has the dude taking care of business. I don't mind it as long as it is not a frequent thing.

I don't mind the man loving. It's a natural thing to do I think. I don't want it to take over all the book but some here and there is very pleasurable to read to me. The Jed scene was done well and nicely written. I thought it was sexy.
