Release

Oh, in so many ways. I don't know how I feel at the moment.

I just received a call from my agent, that, after these many weeks of talking and negotiation, MIRA Books has released me from my contract with them. So I'm now free to shop Virtually Hers/One and other romantic suspense books to other publishers.

Now, the market is tight out there, so it's not exactly a good time to be without a publisher at the moment. But, MIRA has kept my manuscript out of the market for so long, it's been as if I haven't had one anyway. Also, while this was happening, I couldn't submit romantic suspense to anyone else (that's why I've been writing the Viking Dude fantasy).

Okay, deep breath.

It's not going to be easy to find a home for the second book of a series. However, there are several options available to me these days that aren't available years ago. I'll probably have to sell something else first, like Grace's story, which is already written.

Anyway, dear readers, it's been that kind of a year. Sorry to start your day with such a downer.

Bear with me while I learn. The first button likes the POST. The second button likes the BLOG site. Please help me by "liking" me. Thanks!

Sending you big hugs, Jenn. It may suck that MIRA let you out of the contract short term, but now you have so many options and at least now Jed has the opportunity to land somewhere where people will respect him. Plus, Grace and T and Alex have a better shot too.

Just hang in there, I know they'll find a new home soon.

Yikes, but as you said, they hadn't been there for you for some time. At least you're no longer hanging in the air...though it doesn't bode well for VHis remaining in print. Hopefully, one of the other publishers who were interested in SSS will pick it up.

{{{HUGS}}}

(((Gennita))) Hang in there. You'll find a new home. You just have to get by this bump. At least you know where you stand now. That has to be somewhat of a relief.

This will be a good thing. It will. This series is too powerful to go ignored.

Jenn, I'm wishing you the best of luck. I really want to read more books from you, esp. Virtually Hers!

It'll be great Jenn, you'll have great success now that them booboos have stepped out of the way. They'll be hitting their heads on he wall next year, singing along with the Greek chorus "woes, why did we let her go?".
Thinking of you
:)

Gennita I'm so sorry. That just sucks. I really hope you're able to sell the series to another publisher. At least you're free now so you can shop anything anywhere. And you can breathe.

Not easy. I know.

Big hugs!

I'm glad you got some resolution but would have wished for a much happier ending for you. Here's believing that one door closed means five more opening, and that all your fans will get a chance to finally read Virtually Hers!

Good luck finding a home for these stories. I'm hoping we'll get to read "Virtually Hers" soon.

I'm sorry to hear your news, but at least you are free to find a publisher who will support you and be better for your. I'm happy to follow you wherever you end up! I would totally buy your book from ereader (bought VHis there) or from your blog. I'm wishing good things for you. Things happen for a reason. Hugs!

Oh no! No Virtually Hers??? Bah, how can Mira do this to such a great series? Maybe you can sell it as an ebook, Gennita. Maybe through an ebook publisher? There are many of us who will buy it, even in ebook, because we want more Jed!

I'm so sorry to read that. But I hope it will be for the better. Yours books are too great not to find another home now that you can start talking with other publishers.
Lots of hugs from this side of the ocean.

I am sooo sorry hon. I found out yesterday that my project at work was canceled and I likely am without work at the end of the month and I truly feel your pain. I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to read it whenever it gets published.

I had an idea, you know how they have those circles sometimes at the bottom of pages, or at least used to? Where you click on one and it takes you to others of the same topic? Not sure if its kosher with different publishing houses but I know I found your books first and once I finished them was looking for other similar romantic suspense/adventure types and had trouble finding them. Perhaps all your author buddies might want to make a circle of suspense authors and make each other your own advertisers? Course that does you little good without a publisher but positive thoughts are being sent that you find one quickly and with ease :)

I have Virtually His on my keeper shelf and have anxiously been waiting for Virtually Hers to be released. I hope you can find a publisher soon...thanks for the update and best of luck!

OMG! I wish I lived near you so that we could get thoroughly drunk and curse. I am soooo incredibly sorry. It is a tremendous loss for them. Your devoted fans can and will wait patiently for the next book in the series regardless of when it comes out. I'm sure you know we are in your corner and only wish for the best.

I am positive that what comes after this will be so much better and this has opened a door for something incredible. Keep the faith my friend. It sucks now, but I can't wait to see the post titled "Woo-Hoo and away we go". I'm sure it will happen soon.

Oh no! (((((hugs))))))) As bad as I'm feeling right now, I can't imagine your disappointment. I wish the decision had been otherwise, but at least you're no longer in limbo and the rest of your writing plans held hostage. Now you have the power again to make decisions/choices and move forward. I just know you'll find a new, supportive, publisher, soon; you're too goddamn good a writer not too.

You are all amazing. I come home from the Roof With Holes, feeling slightly off, thinking about today's news, and there was 50 emails in my box as well as all your comments/posts here and at the Yahoogroup, all of which were positive and supportive. My cup runneth over. And over.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I'm sure the next few days, you'll read about my processing this whole thing on the blog because well, it's on my mind ;-), but know that I'm not doing what the kitty is doing in the pic. For one thing, I don't look that darn cute. ;-) For another, I don't think MIRA would care, LOL.

There are challenges ahead. But at least I can do/submit something else instead sitting here telling everyone that I don't know when VHers is coming out.

Thank you again. It's so good to come home and be told not to mope.

Oh crapola, I'm so sorry Jenn. Like others have said, on one hand it's good to have it resolved, but the resolution is a blow. But you're a TERRIFIC, talented, ENERGETIC and GREAT author and I have full confidence you will find another home for the series, even if you sell something else first.

You have a lot of endurance, and you'll get through this. I wish you lived closer and I'd plunk you down in my hot tub, slap a rum runner in your hand and you wouldn't have to think about holes in roofs or publishing, just chilling and relaxing and doing nothing more strenuous than staring at the funky flamingos in the yard.

Hang in there.

I don't know what to say because I may never really understand you feeling. I know it must be hurt since your books are very good. It is their shortsight and their loss.

Good luck on new publisher.
