And that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I came home on Sunday feeling tired but fine. Monday, I was tired but fine, even went on a roof. Then I read that Marjorie had a cold. And suddenly I sneezed. I went, "Oh, oh."
Before I knew it, my whole body starting aching. My eyeballs became sensitive. My throat dried up and frogs started jumping out, merrily pretending to sound like me. I couldn't hold anything down inside my body for an hour. All I wanted to do was crawl into bed.
But the roof. It calleth. So I spent a few hours making some money while my whole body protested in the 100 degree sun. I told myself that I would sweat it out of me. How many times have we told ourselves that? I'll sweat the cold out of its misery. Never once worked ever, but still, I persevered to prove this theory right at least once. Not this time.
Last night, the fan above me made me shiver. Turning it off made me uncomfortable. Needless to say, last night was all about me pretending to sleep. All along, I was also trying to figure out various problems in my life. You know how it is. You can't sleep, you start to decipher the meaning of life.
There are a few things I need to tell my friends and you, my dear readers. Oh my God, I sound like I'm dying already. I feel like I am. Because my head is about to explode from the cold and the badness in life. Funny, because actually, I think I have bronchitis, which is a lung thing, but my head, it thinks it should be affected. Every time I sniffle, my eardrums go PING! And some hammer pound the back of my eyeballs.
Can you tell I'm being whiny? That I don't like being sick? That I'm very seldom sick like this?
;-)
Where was I? I have problems. I have news. But I have decided to put off telling friends and readers till my mind is clearer and words don't come out all melodramatic and over-the-top-like. It's not like I'm a writer with a melodramatic life, after all, oh no. And Bad Puppy? He's horny because the girls are in heat. Can you say he's WHINY too?
But I'll give you one small piece of news. I got back my manuscript that I wanted to give away as an e-book through Harlequin. So I can now give it away to y'all on this blog, at my website, and anywhere else I wish. However, I want to go through it chapter by chapter to get out some old wrinkles (it was written a while ago and some certain names and dynamics of the COS world have changed), then I'll post it chapter by chapter as I go along, with a link for a download on top of the blog for those who want to view it at their leisure. At the end of this great ambitious project, I'll give it away in a big giant .rtf file format--for those who have downloaded electronically before, is that a good format? What do you recommend? How would you do it if CONVENIENCE is the objective? I need your advice and comments.
Oh, and chicken soup and margaritas. Send those too. I blame Marjorie Liu. She's my Giselle Bundsen.

I think I got your cold when you left a comment on my blog. ::grrr:: :-P
Seriously, though it sounds like you got what I got, and it's no fun.
Looking forward to the free read! As long as I can download/open the file, doesn't matter to me what format you use. :-)
