Yes, RB is back! Safe and sound, with nary a bruise, perhaps a scratch, and fantastic stories of close brushes with giant animals to tell. I'm glad I didn't have to deal with another injury ;-). Needless to say, the restaurant and all his friends were very relieved to see him and asked 1001 questions about everything Pamplona when he strolled in dressed in that all-white get-up minus the red sash. I have a feeling he'll be donning that white top a few more times.
The travel agent booked his stay at some huge hotel in the financial district, so he was stood out, being casually-dressed among three-thousand dollar suits at a conference. Of course the suits were interviewing him whenever they bumped into him at the elevator, all wanting to go out and participate, but not quite getting the courage to face the dirty masses (and bulls). RB thought it was funny because here were these men with a gazillion dollars, living right there where the festival was, and they were just doing business conferencing instead. Then he met a couple of Marines from the States and of course they became buddies. The craziest, he said, were the Australians, who came in groups just to run with the bulls and party-hearty in between.
No one--young and old--slept during the night. There were firework competitions and bands playing all night long. The bull runs were in the morning. Then everyone sort of danced on the streets because it was so crowded no one actually could move anywhere else. It was insane.
I'm glad RB had fun. Workaholic that he is, he doesn't get out much, so this trip is good for him, I think. Who knows? If he takes another English class, he can now give a whole new powerpoint presentation about Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises without too much research! ;-)

That's just totally awesome!! Way to go, RB! Glad to hear you're doing great and had lots of fun. :)
Glad he came back safe and sound. Everytime I heard news about an injury over there, I thought of him. Sounds like he had the time of his life.
Just a bit off topic here, Gen, lately I keep getting a pop-up blocked warning, when I come over here. Not sure what it is (cause I'm not about to 'unblock' the pop-up. heh.)
Mo,
I hope his wife managed to take some decent pics. Mostly, everything was a mad crush of bodies, unless you're in a special area above the crowd, which they weren't.
Vanessa,
I believe it's just the yellbox thingie. I have no idea why it triggers the pop-up warning. I "allowed" it just to see what it was and there was nothing, so I'd just ignore it ;-).
aww good for him thats awesome
Glad he's ok! It's sounds like it was a fun trip. Glad he enjoyed himself.
Kim and Yovana,
Yes, he's regaling everyone with his adventures. Good to see him grinning and healthy. Now, it's back to work and school!
The pop up is from the yell box (castlemedia.com) it's aksing me to add 'a free local weather indicator to my system tray'. I never used to get this warning though, it's only been happening in the last week or so, and you've had the yell box for awhile now.
Hey Vanessa,
I'm not sure what to do to stop the pop up since it's so recent. I'll try to look for a code on the site to see whether I can take it out. I suppose if it's a box asking readers rather than just doing it without permission, it's more a nuisance than a danger. Darn. This was one of the better free shout-out boxes too.
Woohoo!!! I had faith in RB, I really did, but after hearing about the injuries, I was kinda worrying... so glad to hear he's back and Badder Than Ever!
And it seems to me that drinking Australians tend to feature indordinately often in international tales of wild-n-craziness.
(Just popping in to check on RB while vacationing in the wilds of rural midwest and dodging the running of the kamikazi mosquitos!)
