Time to nominate your most favorite book that you've read for the first half of 2008, gang. I nominate Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady, a (spy) historical. Innovative and sexy. Loved the hero. Loved the heroine. Want the hero ;-). There were a few stupid plot points but the strength of the author's voice kept me going. I think I reread this book at least five times!
So, what's your nomination of best book so far this year?

Virtually His....hands down!
I know it was last years release, but I didn't read it until this year....so.....
I second your nomination of Spymaster's Lady. Like you, I've already read it multiple times. Totally wowed me.... Hands down, the best book I've read so far this year!
Oh dear, this is a hard one.....Dark Needs at Night's Edge by Kressley Cole. I liked it morethan the others because Conrad was brought back from 300 years of madness by the power of love.
Any of Mercy Thompson series by Patrica Briggs, awesome storyline. Or Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews.
And Genn, I'm on your yahoo mail list, thanks for asking. I know there are a lot of people on there.

Kristi,
Come by chat on Sunday night, kay?
I just started reading Carrie Vaughn this year so I have to say any of hers are great!
My number one pick is Vhers but if we have to go with this year my picks are Sherrilyn Kenyon Devil May Cry or Dream Chaser. I got them this year.
That's tough. I can't pick one, but here are my top picks:
Scalzi - Last Colony
Bujold - Passages
Peeps - Scott Westerfeld
Hilary Mckay - Exiles & Caddy Ever After
David Palmer - Emergence (old)
McCall Smith - Miracle at Speedy Motors
Wow, Traci,
Thanks!
Everyone,
Thanks for the recs. I have read quite a few of them and can say those are really strong books too, especially the Patricia Briggs ones. It's always fun for me to see what others are reading.
I agree with you on The Spymaster's Lady, and would add Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs and Your Scandalous Ways by Loretta Chase (my review coming soon).
You mean other than FF and VHis? Darn!! They don't count; I read them last year. OK - fine. It would have to be Scent of Darkness.
