Some of you, planning to come to 2009's Romantic Times Convention in Orlando, emailed me for more details about what to expect, so today, I'd like to post some videos I found on the web so you guys can see for yourself.
The first one is of the Faery Ball. This is part of the contest. No need to panic if you hate costume stuff; not everyone went in costumes. There is usually a dinner and you just sit back and watch. Some of the costumes are stunning. Besides, every time I see a man walking past me with a set of giant wings, I grin. Oh, the things Ranger Buddy would say about that....
The man accompanying the lovely lady onto the stage is my wonderful model friend, Rodney, whom I've known for five years. Rodney is very popular at the convention and is a gentlemen, so he was a perfect choice for Mr. Romance 2006 (in Daytona).

The following is a sweeping camera of the madness that's the Saturday Book Fair at Romantic Times. There were readers walking around with rolling suitcases, looking for their favorite authors! There were readers from Australia, New Sealand, England, Germany, and Sweden. The noise level was so loud at times one could barely hear one's own voice! If you look at the far end of the video during the first few seconds, you will see TALL and BEAUTIFUL Marjorie Liu standing up, towering over me (hidden because I'm four feet four).

hey, you can see part of my head in that shot when it first starts out (I always sit just a few folks away from Sylvia Day)
I love the bookfair, it's like I exhale for the first time after it and finally sort of relax.
And Rodney is such a sweetheart. A gentleman, handsome, so very nice - just the epitome of Mr. Romance.
