Eversince the bike accident, friends and the neighborhood had been calling the Alpha Male "Crash." The other day, a couple upgraded the nickname to "Crash Victim." LOL.
"Wat up, C.V.?" actually sounds kinda cool.
They ask me what I'm looking forward to now that he's getting better. Oh, that's easy. I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE MY NICE TRUCK BACK instead of the old heap I have to drive because his injured leg can't handle the clutch. Grrr.

I have been remissed in posting the finalists of the Romance Writers of America's RITA award. This is similar to the Oscars in the sense that the books were judged by our peers. And yes, we all dress up and eat chocolate and hobnob with the big authors ;-).
Congratulations to the finalists! Check out the list and tell me what you think.

I've obviously been reading too much scifi and fantasy lately since I only recognized two or three of the finalists. I think I'll print out the list and head for the library. :)
Mmmm... it's a shame I can't vote. LOL I'd so vote for Christina Dodd. Her Darkness Chosen series is... hot! OK - not hotter than Jed but seriously, I loved it!! I can't wait for the last two to come out, that would be July & August.
LOL - I love it - C.V. It does have a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Better than A.M. as I have been calling him.
I have 7 books from that list! That makes me happy to know that they're doing well. As for the rest I'll need to check it out. Some of these finalists I never heard of before.
I'm happy to see some of my favorite authors on that list including Lisa Kleypas, Allison Brennan, Nora Roberts, Karen Rose and Anne Stuart.
Bunny Queen,
There are so many books out there it's impossible for me to ever catch up. The RWA RITA list gives me some suggestions to add to my pile.
Monique,
Heh, well, I think there's a Readers Award contest somewhere online. There is an important Readers' Choice Awards annually, also given out at RWA.
LOL at the A.M. vs the C.V. I just call him Limp. Or Gimp, when I'm mad at him.
Hi Anonymous,
I'm actually surprised some books I thought were fantastic didn't make the list. Ah well. Makes my not making it okay too, then, heh heh.
Jane,
Yah, those are perpetual RITA favorites. You should see the rows of RITA pins on their badges. So envy-inducing. They are wonderful authors, so totally deserving of the accollades.
