She plays a very old witch who wants to eat a fallen star so she can look young again. So we do get to see her (and her sisters) looking ancient (ha, a bald wrinkly Pfeiffer!) for fun too.
Here is the promotional site: http://www.stardustmovie.com/
I didn't play with it for long while I was there but the links are really interesting, with very nice shots from the movie. Of course, the male lead doesn't look too bad either ;-).
Has any of you gone to see it yet? Planning to? I mean, come on, pull your hubby away from Rush Hour Three and Bourne Ultimatum for some fantasy!
You can view parts of the illustrated book by Neil Gaiman at Amazon.
I chose this picture because, of course, I'm interested in the romantic elements of the fairy tale ;-).
Here's a quick synopsis, taken from another site:
Stardust is about a falling star, the three different groups of people who see it fall and the meaning they attach to it. A member of each group sets out to find the fallen star, by doing so, that person will receive something of great meaning to them.
Here's an excellent, excellent trailer:
It looks good, yes? I love fantasy and fairy tales. One day I'd like try my hand crafting a story in that genre. World building would be crazy fun!
Bear with me while I learn. The first button likes the POST. The second button likes the BLOG site. Please help me by "liking" me. Thanks!

I thought this movie was a real gem. We went to see it yesterday and plan to catch it at least two more times this week. Such a good story. :)
Saw the trailer for it ages ago - told hubby then we were going. Haven't yet, but we will. :)
When I took Emma (dh) to see Hairspray we saw the trailer for Stardust and both wanted to see it! We havea a date to go and see it next week!
Mich "-)
Opps Emma is my 10 yr old dd not dh!
M "-)
The dh is a Neil Gaiman nut so we'll be off to see it next week...and the Bourne Ultimatum looks sooooo good, might be a BIG movie week!
I am so excited because I am hitting the theatres to see Superbad. Yes - it is the high brow educational movies for me! You know in its trailer how the guy reaches for the girls shoulder and accidently grabs her boob? That is like how I am with boys... it just never happens exaclty how I planned it!
Jordan,
Yeah, I'm surprised there wasn't that much promotion for a movie that has Michelle Pfeiffer in it! ;-) I know, I know, I'm deliberately ignoring the other big stars in the cast.
Monique,
I'm still waiting for your thoughts about the wereseagull ;-).
Mich,
LOL, for a moment I did think: "Her dh's name is Emma?" LOL.
Sarah,
I hope the movie is better than the book!
Nancyb,
So where do you grab accidentally again?!
