Is Paris Hilton still sitting in jail?! I wonder how much tax-paying dollars have been spent rehabilitating Ms. Hilton, and should we bill the judge?

I've run out of shelf space *hanging head* and must fill out a box of books to be donated *cries*. According to my friend, this should be easy because I have tons and tons of books collected from conferences that I've been hanging on to that I've no intention of reading. Easy? Is parting with books ever easy?
But I must do this. My piles have moved out into the dining area, multiplying at tremendous rate on table tops and hutches. Why can't some people just eat between stacks of books?! Just stand up when you need to pass the salt and pepper, that's all....

I have been a bad girl. I haven't gone back to the gym since coming home from Colorado. My abs are soft. And I miss that very good looking young man who walks around shirtless, inspiring a dozen sweating young and old ladies to run faster on the threadmill and pant harder. He makes me want to be Demi Moore without the Botox.

Writing update: Struggling with breaking Jed's heart. Oh yeah, got your attention there, hmm? ;-)
It's a spectacularly difficult scene to write. Dude's resistant to every prodding I've thrown at him. "No tears," he warned me, "no tears or I'll torture you in your sleep." Aww. He's no fun.

Next month is RWA in Dallas. Have you bought your tickets yet? 450 authors, my friends, will be there signing books. Marjorie Liu and I will be giving away freebies too. Pamela Clare, Emma Holly, and I have a date at the bar to buy PC a congratulatory drink for her RITA nomination. I hope to see Cindy Gerard so I can squee like a fangrrrl.

And for those who are going through a really uber slow Tuesday, here is a site to create snowflakes. Mine is #4 million and something. There are a lot of us around with slow days, it seems:

Okay, so Jed may deserve a little heartbreak, but please tell us it's not for that long. Please? lol
I'm in total agreement on eating between stacks of books. What's the big deal? As long as they know not to spill anything on them. *g*
Yay for Dallas! I'm so excited!
Why did you make me go to make snowflakes? Sigh. Sent you an email so you can go look at MY SNOWFLAKE!
Jed and Alex can always answer questions from fans in a blog. Or how about "A day in the life of..." or maybe "10 Declassified things you didn't think you needed to know about Commandos." :)
Poor Jed. If he needs a hug or shoulder to cry on, I'm more than willing to help. ;)
The snowflake was fun, but I think I'm just going to sit and stare at the handsome dude in the blog for awhile. Sigh....
"No tears." Yup, that's got my vote, too! Leave that to Suz Brockmann's books!
So you're saying book contest to your favorite blog fans? Very cool.
If it'll make you feel any better, though I HAVE been hitting the gym more often, I seem to have gotten slower. Just yesterday, went jogging by the river, old dude (think WWII vet old) and lady w/a wheelie walker zipped right past me.
Don't make Jed suffer TOO much. Well, unless he's a Red Sox or AL fan. Then he'll be used to suffering. It's what we Yankee fans like to call rooting for the loser.
Have fun in Texas! I'm a Democrat from NYC. I've been banned from there. But I'm sure it'll be a blast for y'all.
I don't know, I am sure you can get tears somehow... do him good.
I made a snowflake. How cool!
Ack bloody snowflake site has sucked me into it's infernal plot. Love the piccie. I don't think he needs to cry either, just whimper artistically.

Oh crud, now I can't even comment correctly without doubling up
Hi Casee,
Can't wait too! And yeah, the books aren't in MY way!
Hi Leilani,
You like the dude over making snowflake?! Man!
Anonymous,
I see you've been busy making some pretty snowflakes. Slacker ;-).
Kathleen,
Well, I wasn't going to make him sob.
SQ,
Come to Texas! I'll protect you....
Sarah,
You don't need another snowflake in NZ! ;-)
Chez,
It's an addicting site, isn't it? You keep wanting to make snowflakes and before you know it, you're #2 million and something.
I look forward to your posts on RWA National 2007. :) I have added your blog to the blogroll again this year for Blogging National.
