Uber Innuendoes

Here is a conversation you'll never read in a romance novel:

Ryan Seacrest: Simon, any advice on the high heels?

Simon: You should know.

Ryan: You stay out of my closet!

Simon: Come out!

Ryan: This is about the Top 12, not what you want!

Bwah! Best comebacks ever.

In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, that's a conversation, verbatim, from American Idol between host Ryan Seacrest and the acid-tongued Simon Cowl.

I would like to substitute parts of this conversation and have J.R. Ward's Butch and Vishous saying them to each other. Heh, heh, heh. Yeah, I know. Me bad girl. But I really do feel for those boys, dig? They should just tear each other's clothes off and go Brokeback Vampires. But of course, you'll never read that kind of scene, except in my head.

And in case you have NO IDEA what I'm talking about again, Butch and Vishous are two kickass vampires in Ward's Black Brotherhood series, whose characters all speak with a strange lisp. I enjoy the books but the brothahly and homoerotic teasing are killing me. Sleeping naked in a bunch together ON THE SAME BED? Limbs on top of each other?! You should see RB's face when I told him that. LOL.

And here's another reality show reference that cracked me up, between the gay guys who won the leg on Amazing Race and Phil, the host:

Phil: Congratulations! You won a trip to (some nice resort island place)
Guys: Thank you! Thank you! (hug, hug) Phil, would you like to join us there?
Phil (with a straight face): That would be another kind of reality show.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA. Snort.

A few vampire/paranormal series have been adapted from into TV shows! I haven't seen them yet but my friends said they were really good. Jim Butcher's wizard series. Sookie Stackhouse! And another series called Blood Ties.

Have you seen them? What do you think?

I finally finished Elizabeth Vaughan's WARPRIZE. Highly recommended!

OMGosh, that conversation between Ryan and Simon was hilarious. Simon is right, though. LOL

Have you read Lover Revealed yet?

Hi Casee,

No, haven't yet, but I'm awfully spoiled ;-). I'm looking forward to reading it ONCE I find the book in the stores. Not there!

I'm all about the homoeroticsm!!! Bring it on Butch and V! Of course, it would be even better if I was in the middle of that homoerotic sandwhich!

The vampire in Blood Ties is young, but he's HOT! The sexuality oozes off the screen when he walks on. I really like the Dresden Files. It's fun. Good casting. Haven't caught the Sookie Stackhouse series yet. Has it aired?

Jordan,
So many shows and no time, wahhhh! I'm going to have to get Blood Ties on DVD. I don't have HBO so I don't know when Sookie Stackhouse is showing or whether it's already on!

Gennita, Thanks for letting me know that it's on HBO. At least we get that one. I was worried it would be Showtime. *ggg* You definitely need to get Blood Ties, when it's released on DVD. It's not the greatest special effects. They're actually pretty bad, but I rarely pay attention when the 'vampire' is on the screen. *g*
