Uber Spy Story In A Bottle

Seven-Eleven stores are selling bottled drinks now and I tried one of the flavors last night. It's called Apple Ginger Snap. I was standing in line when a woman asked me whether I had it before because she wondered what it tasted like. I told her no, I haven't but since it looked like it might give me convulsions, I thought I'd give it a gulp ;-). We had a good laugh because Apple Ginger Snap definitely sounded like a concoction no one in their right mind would try, LOL.

Anyway, the woman actually waited for me to pay for it and then taste it for her! I did. And it tasted like...chicken. Just kidding, LOL. No, I didn't go into convulsions. It was just what I wanted at 6.30pm after a particularly hard day on the roof, though--sweet and apple-tart.

"Well?" she asked.

Her eager curiosity interested me more than the drink, actually. "It's like ginger snap apple," I told her with a smile, "with more apple than ginger."

"Do you like it?"

"Yeah, I'll drink it again."

"Okay, I'll go buy one."

Wow, my opinion mattered to this stranger! LOL. Or maybe because I didn't have convulsions. It's cool how we depend on each other to help us make up our minds, isn't it?

Which made me think about my work in progress. The series is like new bottled drinks, called Super Soldier Spy. It's got cool ginger snap added with something unexpected, the apple tartness. And you know, it's going to be so hard for me to answer the usual question, "What's your new series about?" because it has so many elements in it.

If I just mention them, it sounds like I'm writing science fiction or paranormal, which I'm not. But it does have virtual reality at its most sophisticated level (and a little bit more), "untested" and unsanctioned drugs currently tested on military candidates, CIA woowoo that's as close to the X-Files that's been declassified, and lastly, a heroine who's going to be trained in and with all these elements as part of her program.

"What's the story like?" I know the above paragraph doesn't sound very romance and might even scare some readers off because of the techy stuff happening in it. I'm crossing my fingers that it won't because the romance is going to be very strong through the story. Think of La Femme Nikita, the TV show, with a HAPPY ENDING ;-). Think also fo La Femme Nikita in The Matrix and what you think she might do in Neo's place ;-). Think of that special episode in La Femme Nikita when MICHAEL came onto the ship in which she was hiding out and he claimed her ;-). Now think of that episode A LOT. LOL. Because Hell's other mission, besides being the series title, is to find out the identity of her very, very mysterious and sexy trainer. Is it one of the COS Commandos? Or is it the very enigmatic Heath Cliffe? No, don't ask me the next question. I don't know the answer yet myself.

Anyway, I hope y'all will like my special blend of apple ginger snap. It won't send you into convulsions--I hope ;-).
