Reese Witherfork, a reader with a great sense of humor, interviewed me after reading SLEEPING ***. For an irreverent discussion about the book and me, click on this link:
Reese's blog is fun; she doesn't try to analyze or break down a book and its meaning. Check her out!
LAST DAY IN NYC:
1) Did book business, met with book sellers, signed books
2) walk, walk, walk
3) went to the Rockefeller Center
Here's one of the last pics taken in New York:

It was one of those cold and foggy nights, and the clouds were swirling around the tower of this building, and this pic doesn't do it justice. We didn't have any energy left to go up the Mariott for a drink on the top revolving floor. We could have taken some cool photos from there. Ah well, skipping up and down NY boulevards with a hot cup of coffee is just as good!
We also saw Spamalot, which brought together the best songs and skits from the Monty Python movies, The Holy Grail and The Life of Brian. Too, too funny. I love it almost as much as Wicked, which I saw last year. Hard to compare, since they are both so different, but if you like the spoofy silly Monty Pythons, you will love Spamalot. David Hyde-Pierce, from Frasier, plays Sir Robin, the cowardly knight and was very good, both singing and dancing.
We both had seen the movies so many times that we had to really curb the urge to start acting like college students who yell out the funny lines before they were said. For example, when the Knights of the word Neegh (or however you spell it) showed up, I resisted screaming out "Neegh! Neegh!" like an idiot. LOL. That would have been too obnoxious, huh? ;-) I was hoping they would incorporate the Philosopher's Song into the show somehow but they didn't. That was good, I guess, because I think I would have burst out in song and sang along and embarrass the hell out of Steve. You just CAN'T not sing along to that song! It was hard, as it was, just humming along to Bright Side of Life, another good one.
I felt so sad packing that night. Four days in NYC is just not enough! There's still so much to do and see and I'm still sad that I couldn't stay to enjoy Chinese New Year. On the other hand, Florida is 70 degrees Fahrenheit and I can wear all the new clothes I bought ;-).
And...and...oh yeah, drink those fifteen packets of Chinese medicine....
